ECO Point from Prentke Romich

Prentke Romich announced earlier in the week a new eyetracking accessory for their ECO augmentative communication device. For months now I had heard rumors of this product, and that Prentke Romich was working with Mytobii to develop this system. This is what exactly transpired. (www.prentrom.com).

Eyetracking has definitely been "trendy" amongst assistive technology circles. In the past year Dynavox introduced their own accessory, the Eyemax, and Mytobii joined forces with ATI to market their own unit in the United States. The other players in the market include Eye Response Technologies, Eye Tech Digital Systems, and LC Technologies.

My coworkers and I will be giving a session at the annual CSUN International Technology and Persons with Disabilities Conference. Our presentation will give an overview of the aforementioned eyetracking systems and some clinical implications. I'll give more details as we draw closer to the conference. (www.csun.edu/cod)
